Lusikan muotoilu on erittäin hyvä itsenäistä ruokailua harjoittelevalle lapselle. Lusikan varteen on helppo tarttua; se on mukavan leveä ja pituudeltaan sopiva, ei liian pitkä. ”Kouruosa” on ihanan matala, mikä mahdollistaa sen, että ruoka todella menee lapsen suuhun eikä jää lusikan kouruun.
Äiti –
Aloitin kiinteiden antamisen kun vauvani oli tasan 6 kk. Aluksi yritin syöttää hänelle lusikalla, mutta jo ekasta (tai ehkä kolmannesta) maistelukerrasta lähtien hän oli sitä mieltä että syö ihan itse (minä laitan lusikkaan ruokaa). Välillä vähän sotkuista, mutta suurin osa ruoasta kyllä päätyy suuhun.
Lusikka on erinomaisen muotoinen lapsen käteen ja siitä on helppo syödä.

Lusikasta tulee käytössä sileämpi, kuluu pintaa pois. Se ei kuitenkaan käyttöä haittaa. Lapsi pitää helposti lusikkaa väärinpäin kun se on molemmista päistä leveä.
